We welcome all new and returning families of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. School (MLKing) All playdates will be at the Dr MLKing, Jr School playground on the following dates:
- Sunday, July 22, 10am-12pm (rescheduled to July 29, 10am-12pm)
- Wednesday, August 29, 4-6pm
- Tuesday, September 4, 4-6pm
Restrooms We cannot guarantee access to the building in the summer, so please ensure that you and your child use the restroom before coming to the playdate. You can also find a restroom at Riverside Pizza, or the Whole Foods on River street, both of which are several blocks away

Rain will cancel the playdates, though if possible we will reschedule.

MLK Friends is our school's volunteer parent group. MLK Friends helps the school meet their core values in these ways. We help build community, fund and organize enrichment activities, and also assist with material needs for students and teachers at the school.

We welcome you to join MLK friends in the fall. We meet once a month, and we welcome people to run for the Board, or to volunteer in specific ways.
Room parents One fun way to volunteer and be connected with others in the school is to serve as a room parent. Room parents gather contact information for families in each classroom, help organize fun classroom events like potlucks, and assist in way that the teacher requests.

School Council Yet one other way to be involved is to run for Dr. MLKing, Jr. School School Council. School Council is a group separate from MLK Friends that meets once a month to advise the School Principal. Here is a list of the 2017-2018 (current year) meeting dates and topics
