Please give to the MLK Friends Annual Appeal The Annual Appeal is our largest fundraiser, and we can guarantee that your child - and every child in the school - will benefit from the funds raised for field trips, special events and projects like the school t-shirts, SplashMath app, cultural events like MLK Day and the Chinese New Year Celebration. We are an all-volunteer organization so 100% of your donation goes to our school (PayPal charges a small fee for collecting online donations). We encourage all families to donate the amount they feel comfortable donating. To donate you can: - donate online (click "Donate" at the top right of www.mlkfriends.com) - drop your donation off at the school's front desk in an envelope to the MLK Friends parent group - send your donation in your child's Friday folder in an envelope to the MLK Friends parent group We thank all the families who have already made donations! 2. Meet the new School Superintendent! Thu. Dec. 15, 8am-8:30am | first floor conference room Please RSVP to attend this informal meeting with the new Cambridge public schools superintendent, Dr. Kenneth Salim. A flyer went out about this event on Dec 12 so you can RSVP by email at mlkfriendsgroup[at]gmail[dot]com. We ask people to RSVP so MLK Friends can purchase coffee for the event, and so the school can plan to move the event if we exceed the capacity of the school's first floor conference room 3. Light up the Night Lantern Walk and bake sale Wed. Dec. 21, 6-8pm | cafeteria Please RSVP and sign up to bake (baking optional but appreciated) for the bake sale for our lantern making night and walk on Wed. Dec 21, 6-8pm. This wonderful event will include lantern making, a bake sale to benefit our school through MLK Friends, singing and a parade through our neighborhood. Last year it was great fun and can't wait for this year's event! We do need people to RSVP for this event so we can buy enough lantern materials.
