Dear MLK families,
The spirit of Thanksgiving continues on this
#Giving Tuesday! Give thanks and give back to our fantastic school by making a
tax-deductible donation today to MLK Friends to fund activities and programs
year-round that enrich our students’ learning and build community within the
MLK Community. When you make a donation between now and December
31st, your
donation will be matched dollar for dollar by anonymous donors up to $9,000.
That means your donation will go twice as far in making a difference for the
MLK students and community!
MLK
Friends is planning exciting events and celebrations in the year ahead –
Chinese New Year and MLK Day Assembly, among others. MLK Friends
coordinates and funds these events, as well as the annual Book Fair to promote
literacy and the love of learning. Your gift of $5, $25, $50, $100,
or another amount, will continue these important efforts and open up the door
for us to do even more this year.
Our
new nonprofit status means that all donations are now tax deductible and MLK
Friends qualifies for corporate donations and matching employer
gifts. You may donate online or send cash or a check
with the form that will be provided in your child's backpack later this
week. Check out our new website, www.mlkfriends.com, to keep up to date on
meetings, news and events.
Remember
that you can also contribute to the life of our school in many other ways,
including volunteering your time and energy in the library, in the classrooms,
